What is custom upholstering? The "greenest" choice is to spruce up
furniture owned. This saves up to 95% of the energy required to make a new piece of furniture. Upholstering gives
you a one-of-a-kind item. When the sofa or chair is upholstered the end result is a top quality piece of furniture that
is comfortable, show-room quality, and provides satisfaction for many years.
The actual work performed in custom reupholstery of furniture includes:
- removing all old fabrics and covering
- regluing each piece of furniture by careful examination of the frame
- hand-tying coil springs or reenforcing zig-zag springs
- touch refinishing exposed wood, if needed
- rebuilding the platform, arms and back
- upholster the furniture in the exact same style unless otherwise specified
by the customer
- reupholstering the platform with same fabric as upholstered (we do
not use solid color denium or other type fabric).
- replacing the seat cushion foam with Quality Firm or Medium Firm foam and layering
it with polyester batting to create a crown form.
- making fitted arm covers
